One of my favorite throwaway anecdotes in Katie Couric’s memoir: Katie’s first husband, Jay, used to say, “Katie was born on a sunny day.” What a beautiful tribute to her upbeat disposition, and an inspiration for me to lead with positivity. Below, some happy pieces fit for sunny days, and included among them are several pieces from creatives that graduated from the alma mater that Katie Couric and I share, The University of Virginia. I am especially enamored with the gorgeous mixed-media arch panels by fellow Wahoo, Evan Neuhaus Mooney, who lived in my first-year hall, and the fantastic paper goods by Marion Meytheler of Mamey Design.
