What I Wore, 9/24

Leather Tote / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!) / Leopard Slip Skirts Here, Here and Here (Solid here and here.) / 365 T-Shirt (Favorite t-shirt of all time!) / Similar Sandals / Sunglasses

I’m happy I’m doing these posts again. First, it makes me put a little more effort into my outfits every day. Second, I think it’s a good representation of who I am. I am a casual being. Or I am at this stage in my life! Before kids, I’d get dressed up on the reg. Now, though, I’m in jeans way more often than I’m not—and I’m unreasonably proud of myself when I put on a skirt or dress. Heck, I document it. 😆

Here’s what I wore this past week:

Wide-Leg Jeans / Barefoot Dreams Cardigan / Shutz Ballet Flats (Also available in black here.) / Newer Leather Tote / Striped Long-Sleeve Top (Newer) / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!)

This is my favorite cardigan. Yes, it’s an investment. But it’s my #1, and I know that’ll always be so. It’s famous in the blogger world because it’s just so wildly soft and cozy yet slimming at the same time. Not bulky at all! Not sure if you can see it, but it also has pockets on the sides. Huge fan. Runs TTS.

Shutz Ballet Flats (Also available in black here.) / Diamond Jute Rug

The most magical ballet flats in all the land. Guys, these are phenomenal. I have the most sensitive feet in the world, and because I do so much walking in the city, there are very few pairs of shoes that don’t cause ’em to bleed. These, however, are magic. No blisters. No redness. No blood. They’re made of that crazy flexible and soft leather that every pair of shoes should be made out of. Better yet, they come in black, too. Sizing: BIG! Go down a half size. Really.

Shutz Ballet Flats (Also available in black here.) / Striped Jeans (Newer here.) / 365 T-Shirt (Favorite t-shirt of all time!) / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!)

Laundry day! I think what I should talk about here is the 365 T-Shirt, which is my all-time favorite tee. It’s made out of a material that drapes beautifully and travels well. It can also be dressed down or up. Once I discovered it, I actually got rid of all my other tees! Just didn’t make sense to keep them in my closet since I was reaching for the 365 so often. Sizing: Runs small. I go up one size.

Wide-Leg Jeans / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!)  / Padded Leather Ballet Flats (Also available here and here. Love the square-toe version, too!) / Vineyard Vines No-Wrinkle Button-Down Shirt

More laundry.

If you can find  this Vineyard Vines Button-Down Shirt in your size, grab it and check out now. Vineyard Vines’ performance fabric is meant to be lightweight and wrinkle-resistant, and it’s amazing. Sadly, though, not very much is made in it for women. So when I spotted this button-down, I’m pounced immediately. ;) Almost wish I’d bought two because I’m so nervous I’m going to wreck it and be heartbroken, haha. TTS.

Another note would be the Wide-Leg Jeans. These are selling out quickly—and for good reason. They’re really comfortable, and every time I wear them, I get compliments! Though my six-year-old neighbor did ask me if I was wearing my jeans backwards. 😆 Couldn’t stop laughing. TTS.

Quilted Jacket

You need this Quilted Jacket. It’s crazy soft and cozy. Without a doubt the nicest—and my favorite—quilted jacket I own. I love the gold detailing, too. Wore it to Ravinia this past weekend and it did not disappoint! I plan to clean out quite a few quilted pieces from my wardrobe this season simply because I know I’ll be reaching for this one and nothing else. ;) TTS.

Gauze Button-Down (Also own and love this gauzey top! And this gauzey dress.) / Shutz Ballet Flats (Also available in black here.) /  Roadtripper Jeans

Let’s talk about this Gauze Button-Down! It’s one of those tops that you don’t need to iron or steam; just comes out of the washing machine looking like how it’s supposed to look. Soft and cozy. Something you’d want to throw on in the morning! Almost has a pajama feel to it. I own it in the white, black and the olive green color you see above. Great for travel! Runs true to size. Definitely has that slightly oversized look to it, but I’d still order your normal size.

Leather Tote / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!) / Leopard Slip Skirts Here, Here and Here (Solid here and here.) / 365 T-Shirt (Favorite t-shirt of all time!) / Similar Sandals

Here we are with the outfit in the lead photo of this post! I’m really into slip skirts right now—mostly they help elevate ordinary tees, tops and sweaters look fancy—and leopard ones fun. As Jenna Lyons always said, “Leopard is a neutral.” Leopard Slip Skirts Here, Here and Here (And solids here and here.)

Barefoot Dreams Cardigan / High-Rise JeansRothy’s Washable Flats / Silk-Blend Tee (Cashmere version here.) / Jeans / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!)

See? I wear the Barefoot Dreams Cardigan a lot. ;) I also do laundry a lot. Sheesh.

But let’s focus on J.Crew’s Silk-Blend Tee right now. Because it’s fabulous. I definitely like it even more than the cashmere version, as it’s not as overtly sweater-like and therefore can be worn under cardigans. It also tucks better and isn’t quite as long. Comes out of the washing machine looking perfect—no ironing or steaming required. Just an overall great basic.

And as for the Rothy’s Washable Flats, don’t they look so much like Chanel flats?! YET THEY’RE WASHABLE. And one zillion times more comfortable. And a lot more affordable. TTS. Yay, comfort.

AYR Dress (You can also find it on Shopbop!) / Leather Tote / Gorjana Coin Necklace and Bespoke Bracelet (Gorjana recently arrived on Armitage in Lincoln Park!) / Similar Sandals / Sunglasses

I’d been looking for a good transitional summer-to-fall dress, and this is it! It’s made out of that wonderful gauzy material, and it doesn’t need to be steamed or ironed when it comes out of the wash. (I sound like a broken record, but come on. Who WANTS to steam or iron?! We all have lives to live!) Not sure if you can see it, but it has a built-in belt as well. I just tie it once and let it flop over. Looks great. Would imagine the dress would work well for evening events too when paired with heels! TTS.

Leather Tote / Puff Sweater / Jeans / Birkenstocks (Have you seen the new Birkenstock boots?!)

Oh hey, Evereve outfit! The hero of this number is the AGOLDE jeans. They’re my first pair, but I now understand the hype. They’re just so well-made. They don’t have a ton of stretch to them, but they’re extremely comfortable and make me feel like they were made specifically for me. TTS, though if you want more room in the waist, size up because it’s a bit nipped.

Oh, and the puff-sleeved sweater! Man. So soft. Zero itch! And those arms are a wonderful statement. Comes in a couple of other colors as well. TTS.
