I have been a fashion lover for as long as I can remember, scanning the pages of fashion magazines and dreaming of the gorgeous designs I would see. What I wouldn't give to wear those gowns or bold prints, to feel the fabrics on my skin. As I got older, and started to grow into my own fashion wise, I began to notice a disturbing trend. As a plus size women, whose weight fluctuates due to many factors, I was not able to find the clothing I had dreamed of in my size.
Fashion is tangible for many people, but when you're plus size, it can be so difficult to shop for clothing. I quickly noticed that when shopping with friends, I wasn't always able to shop in the same stores, or the clothes in my size were few and far between and usually ugly. Having only one or two options of clothing, shoved in a back corner of a store is demoralizing. It shouldn't be that way.
But I have news for you, Plus Size is and always has been BEAUTIFUL! We shouldn't be made to feel ashamed of who we are, or what we're going through. We deserve to be fashionable just as much as anyone else, and that's why I'm so happy that as a plus size gal, there are so many more options now, than when I was a teenager. We're embracing our bodies and clothing them how we want to, not how we're told to! That my friends, is empowerment!
I was recently introduced to Ori, an online Plus Size Boutique, and I was blown away by their gorgeous clothing and the fact they offer sizes 10-32! They have managed to take everyday, wardrobe staples and make them into pieces that I want to wear! It also helps that the models are beautiful, curvy women! There's nothing worse when shopping online for plus sized clothing and seeing it on straight sized models ( and there is nothing wrong with being straight sized!). I want to see someone who looks like me, and Ori has managed to do that, and it is so greatly appreciated! Ori graciously allowed me to choose a few pieces from their collection to try and share with you all!
I usually wear a 16/18, so according to their old size chart, I ordered a size one. *All styles from their old size chart are marked down so they can make room for their new styles coming out later in the month. The new size chart is geared towards making their sizing completely consistent across their brand. All sales are final!*

The Swept away crepe midi skirt is a gorgeous light weight skirt that features a high-low hemline, and a slight gathered waist in the front. Another cool feature with this skirt, are hidden pockets! I was really excited to see a skirt with poskets, and was pleasently surprised that the weight of items I added to the pockets didn't pull the waist down. This skirt is easy breezy, and so comfortable to wear for as a daily piece, but also elegant enough that it could easily be dressed up for a night on the town. The gathered waist doesn't roll down when you sit, which is a huge plus for me. I have so many pants, and skirts where the waistline is ruined from it rolling or folding in half, which then looks silly when you tuck in a shirt. No one wants to spend hours trying to fix their waistline, or waste money at a tailor getting it fixed. Ori took that problem and showed it who's boss!
The swept away skirt reminds me of summer vacation, walking the beaches and sipping cocktails at sunset. This skirt was bulit to last and I can see it being a staple in my wardrobe for years to come.
The Pleated Midi Skirt is one of the cooleset feeling skirts I've ever worn. It is a fully pleated skirt, that is light weight, with a really cool asymetrical hemline. I have a thing with texture, and I love the texture of this skirt. I found myself folding the pleats like an accordion as I wore this dress, it was so much fun! The airiness of the skirt makes it easy to move in and run errands or wear to the office. It offers enough coverage to not feal uncomfortable moving around in during your daily life activities. It's comfortable and very light weight, making it a perfect Spring to Summer transition piece. This is also going to become a wardrobe staple, with it's neutral rose and nude colors, it's easy to pair with so many things to create different looks.
Ori has you covered if you want quality, stylish plus size clothing that will last! Their clothing is affordable and looks great on us plus sized gals. I'm so glad that I was introduced to this brand, and their amazing clothes. I am so grateful to have some of their pieces in my wardrobe, and hope to add to it in the future, maybe the French Terry Skirt or the All Day Jumpsuit!
