I find myself at the start of spring every year somehow forgetting how to dress. What do you mean I don’t have to layer strategically anymore? Do I really have to put my cute fuzzy earmuffs away? I also tend to just jump into my spring wardrobe, regretting not grabbing my jacket on the way out or even relying on transitional spring outfits to help getting from one season to another go smoothly at all.
That being said, before you put away your coats and hang up your chunky sweaters one last time before the heat starts to swelter, give ’em another chance and make them truly seasonally versatile as we head into spring. Knowing just how unpredictable the weather could be at this time (I’m looking at you, 60-degree Saturday and Sunday snowstorm), it’s important—and we promise not impossible—to incorporate and mix your winter and fall pieces with your spring and summer pieces during these transitional seasons. Lucky for you, we’ve got some inspiration for you down below.
1. A skirt with patterned tights and boots
Anyone else feel like they can conquer the world wearing a really kick-ass pair of tights? Don’t wait to pull out your favorite skirt or dress for when spring’s in full bloom. Pair it with some knee-high boots and tights to keep your legs warm, and you’re all good to go.
2. A cozy, oversized puffer vest and sneakers
When it’s only a bit chilly outside and a puffer coat just might make you overheat, opt for the puffer vest. It provides an optimal amount of warmth and looks super cute paired with trousers, jeans, or even sweats.
3. A slinky-satiny midi skirt
I am a strong believer in midi-skirt supremacy. Paired with sneakers or boots in the spring and sandals in the summer, the midi skirt will get you through this time.
4. A sweater vest and trousers
This minimal looks screams “comfortable and chic.” The trousers can be worn all year round, and as we’re transitioning into spring, staying warm with a cute pullover vest is a must. When it starts to get warmer, ditch the long-sleeve layer and wear the vest alone.
5. An oversized blazer with a bold pop of color
An oversized blazer is never a bad idea. Combined with a wide-leg pant, the look is oh-so-chic and ideal for adding layers or removing them when you don’t need them anymore. Top your look off with a bold-colored pant, and you’re all set.
6. A classic white button-up and jeans
The classic white button-up and favorite pair of denim combo has never failed us and definitely deserves to be shown off as we head into spring. Wear the outfit with your fave pair of boots and a lightweight coat for some extra flair.
7. A matching sweater set
We love a monochromatic moment, and cardigan sets truly deserve to be shown off on their own. Whether you’re pairing it with your fave pair of jeans or skirt, we can assure you it’s about time to let the cardigan do all the talking.
8. A leather moto jacket and cozy pair of pants
The beloved leather jacket—it’ll follow you forever and looks good with just about anything. This transitional season, pair it with a loose pair of pants and a classic pair of Chucks.
