Match(dot)wrong, BUGS, Boise Flash Mob, lambs, reserved, bargain bin and get milk…

  • Hipmombrarian: Match(dot)wrong. About a month ago I made an impulsive decision due to the fact that I had consumed 1 1/2 too many glasses of wine. I decided in my emotional, slightly lonely state that I should sign up for match.com. I’ve since decided that these are the conditions that 89.9% of new member join under.

Eagle and Garden City, First Friday, the no prick rule, free at last, a minivan and it’s a girl…

  • The Mega Frontier: Should Eagle and Garden City even be Cities? This week the news broke that Mayor Phil Bandy of Eagle was resigning, apparently tired of “personal attacks” levied against him for his taking another job (though his Mayor duties are a full time position), and constant battling with City Councilman Al Shoushtarian.

  • ••• Blogtronic •••: Sports Show at Gallery 1988 LA. I’m excited to have been invited to participate in a print show at Gallery 1988 in LA this month. The show is titled “The Greatest Moments In Sports History (A Poster Show)”. I am honored to be among such fantastic artists like Tyler Stout, John Vogel, Daniel Danger, & Drew Millward…to name a few. It is a packed roster. I owe my invitation to the great people over at OMG Posters!. G1988 partnered up with OMGP! to create this exciting new show. The show runs from Mar 6 – 26, 2010 and there will be plenty of great limited edition prints for sale.

One of these links above is to probably one of the most intimidate posts I think I’ve read since I started TREASURED VALLEY, it’s emotionally powerful because it’s real, it’s genuine. That’s one of the things that I love about this medium, the realness of reading about the lives of the people who live next door to us, who are waiting in line behind us at the Flying M, who are braking in front of us at the stoplight. You may or may not know who is behind the writing, but at least you know what other members of our community are thinking. The openness, it’s not for everyone, I’ll give you that, I routinely have internal conflicts about how much I share about my own life.

Not every blog out there is real…in a real-life sense, for a lot of people writing on a blog helps them say things that they never can or would in real-life, and that is also OK, it also makes for great reading. But there is always something special when you have the realization that what you are reading on some random stranger’s blog is real, a window into a real person’s real life — and that always amazes me, because that is a rare and beautiful thing.

Lost, a sign of things to come, perfect settings, ignorance is bliss and roundabouts vs. stop signs…

  • Ponderings from Idaho: They’re into it… are you? Have you ever gotten in to something for a friend? I mean you actually learned about something, researched it, and studied it; because someone close to you was interested in it? Have you been the person whose friend was such a good friend they wanted to share an experience with you that they learned about what YOU liked? I have been in both of these situations.
