  • Incumbents keep seats in Gem County. Thirty-three percent of registered Gem County voters turned out to cast their ballots in the 2010 primary election on Tuesday, and in the two contested county contests, both incumbents prevailed.
  • Yamamoto ousts Hurst in clerk race. Chris Yamamoto took about 57 percent of the vote to unseat incumbent Canyon County Clerk Bill Hurst in Tuesday’s primary election.
  • Voters oust Canyon County clerk. Challenger Chris Yamamoto, armed with a slew of endorsements from Canyon County Republican leaders, won the voters to his side Tuesday to unseat incumbent Bill Hurst as county clerk.
  • Labrador Wins. Boise State Public Radio’s Adam Cotterell takes us to Labrador’s Victory celebration.

  • Mosquito Testing Begins. Believe it or not, warmer weather is right around the corner. That means mosquito season is also nearly here. Crews are already out trying to determine what kind of season it will be
  • Meridian man charged with second DUI this month. David Hart, 26, is accused of felony eluding arrest and misdemeanor counts of DUI and driving without a license after Ada County sheriff’s deputies said he led them on a short high-speed chase in a Chinden Boulevard/Linder Road neighborhood Sunday night.
  • Mountain Home AFB Gets New Commander. The Mountain Home Air Force Base has a new commander.
  • Reward Offered in Antelope Poaching Case. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is asking the public for information regarding the poaching of a buck pronghorn antelope near Emmett on April 9, 2010.

  • Hazmat called to Boise river because of milky substance. Boise Fire and Hazmat teams responded to calls from people on the greenbelt who say a white substance coming from a storm drain and leaking into the Boise River Sunday afternoon
  • America: Land of Religious Intolerance. Every week, the Boise’s mayor’s office sends the media a transcription of all the calls the Mayor’s Hotline has received. People complain about everything from the F35 to their trash service to “the trolley” to their neighbors’ yards.
  • Boise police say kidnapping note found in restaurent a hoax. A note referring to a possible kidnapping was found by a server on an empty table at a restaurant in the 8000 block of Fairview Avenue Saturday afternoon has been determined to be a hoax.
  • Saturday rainfall set a new record for the Treasure Valley. Residents enjoyed sunny weather Sunday and the view of 4 inches of snow blanketing the Boise Foothills.
  • Nampa Train Depot gets $15,000. Thanks to a grants and private donors, the Nampa Train Depot Museum will receive $15,000 in funding, a timely donation for the museum, which has launched a capital campaign to preserve the historic site.
  • Boise man dies in crash after refusing to pull over. When witnesses reported a Honda Accord driving slowly and weaving across several lanes Saturday morning, Eagle police attempted to stop the vehicle on Idaho 44 near its intersection with Idaho 55.
  • Nampa Airport Fest. The Nampa Airport Fest got off the ground Saturday, despite the weather. The dark clouds were rolling in, but they weren’t ready to pack it in yet.

  • Silsby returns to Idaho. A jubilant crowd of supporters and reporters swarmed missionary Laura Silsby on her return to Idaho Tuesday afternoon at the Boise Airport.
  • Silsby’s Legal Troubles. Laura Silsby returned home to the Treasure Valley Tuesday after spending several months in a Haitian jail cell after illegally taking more than 30 children across the border into the Dominican Republic. Now she’s going to have to face her financial problems that were left behind during her imprisonment.
  • The city of Boise and a new local railroad partner up. The state economy could benefit from a plan to build a major shipping hub by the Boise Airport.
  • Kelly Cup Finals: Steelheads go 2OT in must-win game.
  • Boise Schools Receive Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Grant. The Boise School District announced six schools in the District were awarded grant money through the State Department of Education Child Nutrition Program to provide healthy and nutritious snacks throughout the school day as part of a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.
  • Judge dismisses NCA lawsuit. U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge has dismissed Nampa Classical Academy’s lawsuit against the state attempting to allow the school to use religious texts in the classroom.
  • Parents fight against academy’s early summer. Much to parent and student disappointment, the academy declared a financial emergency, Monday night.
  • Treasure Valley home values plunge again. Treasure Valley homeowners may get a rude surprise this year. Some homeowners could see both a decline in their home values and an increase in their property tax bills.
  • From Lewiston to Boise: A tale of a stolen truck. Chad Rye says his pickup was stolen from the parking lot at St. Joe’s Saturday, driven to Boise and crashed into a bank.
  • How common are earthquakes in Idaho? Earthquakes happen in Idaho. Most if asked would know this but almost everyone would be surprised if told that a 6.0 magnitude or higher is possible.
