Treasured Valley

An update:

You might have noticed that I changed up “Morning Coffee” and “Daily Special” a little bit concerning the Treasure Valley links. The links for “Morning Coffee” will primarily be from news sources so you can get a dose of what happened overnight and what the stories of the day are going to be. The Treasure Valley links for the “Daily Special” will be from blogs and other sources, more lighthearted reading while you’re sittin’ at your desk munching on your Cup Noodles. The links for the other categories will remain unchanged.

Also, I’m always building my list of blogs or sites in the Treasure Valley, if you have one or know of one that you haven’t seen linked please let me know about it.

And if you haven’t already become a fan on Facebook and follow Treasured Valley on Twitter. As always I always appreciate it when you send this site out to your friends and family, it helps me out a lot and works to make sure I’ll be able to keep Treasured Valley up and running. Spreading the word will also make it so I can start hatching some of the nefarious plans that I have in store for our little corner of the ‘tubes we call “Treasured Valley”.

A note on the politics links:

I’ve gotten some emails about which side of the political spectrum a lot of the political links fall on. Let me first say that I have I have no problem linking to all sides of the spectrum, the problem is the lack of sources. For example, check out the blog for the Idaho Democrats now check out the Idaho GOP blog — see the difference? I do try to keep my personal politics out of it as much as I can, that being said, I won’t link to blogs that demean or are hateful towards any of my fellow Idahoans — this goes for both the right and the left.

I recently had a nice lunch with a rising star of the Idaho House and one of his first questions was “why are there no Conservative or Republican blogs?”. It’s a great question, there is no doubt that left-of-center blogs significantly out number right-of-center blogs in Idaho — which is kinda odd, or not surprising depending on how you look at it — because of the imbalance in this state. I wish there were some quality right-of-center blogs or sites to link to, but there just aren’t that many. And again, that number also becomes more limited when you start eliminating blogs for their hatefulness.

I’d like to have more Idaho politics blogs to link to, so if you see any news ones be sure to let me know. I think it’s great if we have conversations about politics in our state, we all live here together, we’re all neighbors whether we like it or not.
