- Rafter Injured While Floating the Boise River. Crews had to rescue a stranded rafter Sunday on the Boise river. It happened near the new Park Center Bridge when a women fell off her raft and hit her head on a rock. She then got stuck on an island.

- Neighbor shoots loose pit bull. Police say an Ada County man shot and killed an attacking pit bull. Josh Hobson says he was responding to pleas of help from a jogger on Saturday night. Armed with his shotgun, he says he shot one of two dogs as it turned on him.

- Caldwell Night Rodeo celebrates 75 years. This August’s five-day showcase of bulls, broncs and the cowboy stars of the show will mark three quarters of a century of Caldwell Night Rodeo. The event was first organized in 1935 as the Homesteader’s Silver Jubilee and Night Rodeo, with a purse of $2,500.

Politics:
- Will Otter face a challenge next year? The field is wide open since no strong candidate has emerged from either party to face the governor, who is expected to seek another term. Despite a bruising legislative session and declining poll numbers, Gov. Butch Otter does not yet have an established challenger from the Republican or Democratic party for 2010.
- Eye On Boise: Next session WILL be in renovated Capitol, not back in annex.

- Coming soon to Idaho: A $7.25 per hour minimum wage. Idaho’s minimum wage, currently $6.55 per hour, will rise to $7.25 per hour on July 24, as part of a three-step increase in the federal minimum wage approved by Congress in 2007
